Originally from Southeast Asia, ginger is grown in China, India and Jamaica, among others. The main production source is India. The spice comes from the rhizomes of the plant. White ginger is stripped of its bark, while grey ginger is not. This spice has a hot spicy taste and a delicate but powerful aroma.
